OUR PROCESS
Step 1: Contact Us
Contact the Health Connections team via email or WhatsApp to inform us of your needs. We will then schedule a free initial appointment to discuss your specific requirements. We are dedicated to understanding your unique needs and addressing any initial inquiries you might have, all at no cost to you.
Step 2: Consultation with a Healthcare Professional
If we can be of assistance, we will arrange a video conference with a healthcare professional in Medellín, Colombia. During this appointment, you will have the opportunity to discuss your specific needs, explore available treatment options, and go over the associated requirements. Please note that this interview comes at a nominal fee.
Step 3: Cost Breakdown and Approval
After the specialist confirms that the procedure is feasible, we will send you a comprehensive breakdown of the medical expenses, along with the package cost for transportation and accommodation necessary for the required duration. Your approval is required.
Step 4: Review and Contract Signing
Upon your approval, we will send you the contract for your review and signature. Once the contract is signed, and we receive the deposit, we will proceed to make all the necessary reservations with the healthcare provider, arrange healthcare facilities, and secure accommodations and other associated fees for the scheduled procedure dates.
Step 5: Welcome Package
We will send you a welcome package containing all the instructions and information you will require. This package will include the agenda and contact details for our teams in Toronto and Medellín. Please note that we are not a travel agency. You will need to arrange your air tickets separately. However, if you wish, we can connect you with our preferred travel agency.
Step 6: Arrival in Medellín
Our staff members will be waiting for you at Medellín’s Airport (International Airport MDE) to provide you with a warm welcome. Upon your arrival, we recommend connecting to the free Wi-Fi available, which will allow you to communicate with our staff members. They will assist you in reaching your transportation and accommodation. On the following day, our staff will accompany you to your pre-operative consultations and your initial in-person meeting with the healthcare provider.
Step 7: Procedure Day and Recovery
On the day of your procedure, you will be accompanied by our Medellín’s staff. Your family members will be able to stay in touch with them. They will be responsible for assisting you with all the administrative procedures within the institutions, as well as obtaining any prescribed medications from your doctor or dentist following the procedure. Once the healthcare professionals authorize your discharge from the institution where the procedure was performed, you will be safely transported back to your accommodation. At this stage, if needed, you will have nursing care for your well-being. The duration of this service will vary depending on your specific case, possibly extending for several days or even the first week.
Step 8: Final Step
During your recovery process, you’ll have the opportunity to enjoy your stay in Medellín. If you’d like to explore the beautiful tourist destinations, we can connect you with our partner tourism agencies in Medellín, who will offer various packages tailored to your preferences. Finally, you’ll have a concluding appointment with the specialist for a final assessment before being discharged. You will have access to all medical examinations, records, and related instructions. In case you need a medical history report for use back in your home country, our Medellín staff will assist you throughout this process, including your return to the airport for your journey back home.
Our team in Canada will also reach out to you shortly after your return to Canada to gather your feedback on the overall experience. We are here to help you.
